My favorite Bears

So I know I have posted about the bears before, but they bring me more joy then they probably should :). They are just so stinking cute. For a refresher Jason gave me these bears when we got engaged and they had a wedding dress and tuxedo on. Everytime I get a new outfit I laugh and think how cute they are :) Here they are for Halloween and Thanksgiving:

Aren't they the cutest?? I am proud of them :)

The Recovery

Soooo my laptop got stolen at work which totally sucked. It took us a few weeks to decide to order a new one, and it finally arrived today. Pink polka dots and all :) I love it, and with the way computers go I actually got a better one then I had 2 months ago. Now I get to reinstall all of the stuff which stinks, but I will get there. Guess I won't be taking it to work anymore eh? :) Anyway, we are back in business so I hope to update my blog more, but I wouldn't cross your fingers too severly :)

In other news I have joined weight watchers and this last week I lost 6.9 pounds. Yeah!! I am feeling pretty motivated and hope that I can keep it up.

My company rented out a whole theater to go see New Moon tomorrow. Jason is the most excited I have seen him in days...haha. I am pretty excited to see it. I hope its better then Twilight haha. I didn't hate that one, but it wasn't great. I am excited too see! Anyway, just wanted to make a quick update. Hope you are all great!

The New, The Old and the Awesome

My job is going pretty well. We moved to a different building and I have been working lots of hours. When I quit working overtime I am going to be sad as my paychecks will be substantially less. I am just enjoying the chance to work. I love my co-workers which makes a huge difference in the enjoyment of a job. They are all so great. In a twist of fate, it looks like my buddy Megs is going to be able to come work with me as well, which means that my new job is looking more and more like my old job. Minus the drama and yuckiness. :)

One more big change for our family is that Jason is now officially a student again. He started at Western Governors University at the beginning of this month and is liking it so far. It's nice to have that going again. It is an online university and because of that it is a little more self paced. We are hoping that he can get through it faster then traditional school. He is getting his bachelors in Business Management. We are excited about it. I am looking forward to him starting his math class so that I can help, I kind of miss Algebra :) I know, I'm sick haha. With going to school online we bought him a laptop, and I got jealous so we bought me a laptop too. Its so cute, with white with pink polka dots. I love it, and I know I'm spoiled.

I had a good birthday, thanks everyone for the well wishes. When I got to work one of my co-workers had bought me my favorite sugar cookies from Schmidts. YUMMY! I don't think I have had them since I quit working there, which would have been my senior year of high school, that means 10 years ago. I loved them. Then my co-workers had decorated my desk, which was fun and then I got a certificate for a pound of See's Chocolates from work. Sweet! Then I got home and Jason had gotten me a pretty necklace and earrings. I like them a lot, but the part that was most impressive about his present was the pink bag and tissue paper and the sweetest card I have ever read. (See Picture) The card made me bawl it was so sweet. If you can't read it, the card on the front says "For the Love of my Life, From the Man who adores You." He said the lady at the store sort of teared up when she saw it. :) I also was shocked that he went to the hassle of getting me a cute pink bag complete with tissue paper. Thanks baby :)
My awesome in laws got me a few of those super cute watches that the bands are made of beads and you change it up with different watch faces and stuff. They are so cute and I have wanted them for a long time so I was stoked for that. Then with the money from my parents and others I was able to buy myself some diamond stud earrings that I love. This being 28 isnt so bad.

A while ago I was talking to my neice Erin and she mentioned that she has never been to Las Vegas. Of course I took that opportunity and ran with it. So, that turned into a fun trip that we are taking this weekend to Vegas. We are going to stay at Excalibur and we got tickets to see the Phantom of the Opera. We recruited another one of my neices, Kira, who also hasn't been to Vegas and then my sister in law Kami is coming too. We are really excited and I think we will have a great time. :) Anybody have any things that people who haven't been to Vegas need to see or do, let me know! We are just going for the weekend, but fun should be had by all!
Speaking of Kira, she is my sister Chris's daughter and they live in Boston. However, they are currently driving across country to move back to Salt Lake. We are really excited to have them back in the Valley. :) That will mean all Woodbury's are in the State. WooHoo! Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. :)

Update!

So quite a few things have changed since I last wrote, so I will try to fill you in. After about two months of now job, I finally got one! I started working June 2. I do basically the same work as I did at my old job, just with new faces and a longer commute. I work now at Jean Brown Research, if you live in the valley you have probably heard of them. They advertise a lot. Anyway, I really like it. The people I work with are fantastic. I actually got hired for a job slightly different then the one I did, but after some reorganization I will be back to doing what I am used to. Which is good. Like I said I love my co-workers. I am working 4 10's so I have Friday's off with Jason. That too might change once the reorganization sets in, but we will see. I am glad for a job and am glad I love what I do. If any of you are interested in being in a research study for a swine flu vacinne or flu shot, let me know :). It pays really well with minimal work. Keep it in mind, and you could see me at work.

We are loving our townhome and loving our cute doggie. We don't know what we would do without him! Jason is loving his job too, like always. Its good to be happy, isn't it?

On a none related note I have to mention an adventure we had a few Saturdays ago. We went to Asylum 49 in Tooele. It is a hospital that was used until 2000. They have it set up for a haunted house in October but apparently it's really a haunted house. We went with Jason's family and it was interesting. We did the tour where we saw all of the "hot spots" and where our guide had had sightings of shadows and heard voices and stuff. It was not as creepy as I thought it would be. I wasn't really wanting to go but decided to do it anyway. I was secretly hoping something would happen, but in the same breath praying it wouldn't. We went and wandered the place on our own but there were about 40 other people who were also there so it was hard to be alone and really do any kind of quality investigative work. I have watched "Ghost Hunters" with Jason enough times to know what to look for, but sadly we didn't encounter anything, except some very strange people. A few people that were in our tour with us were "sensitive" and kept sensing things, which was all very interesting. Some people sure are odd!!! We stuck out like sore thumbs because we were somewhat normal, but it was fun. We left and Jason's siblings stayed and had a bit of an experience with an entity answering questions by turning on and off a flashlight that they left on a counter top. I guess it was pretty cool. Anyway, it was fun. Hope all of you are well :)

The Woes of the Unemployed

Ok so as most of you have noticed, its been forever since I last posted. I really don't have any good excuse except that I haven't felt like I had much to write. But now, as I stare at all of the job websites, I am tired of that so I am taking a break! I lost my job almost two weeks ago, so that stinks. It has been kind of nice to not work, but as you all know looking for a job sucks. It's ok though, I have applied for quite a few and will hopefully find something relatively soon. :) I am in pretty good spirits though. I wasn't too happy at my old job, so I am hopeful I will find something I really like and it will turn out for the better. Keep us in your prayers!

A few things I can't quite figure out even though I have time on my hands now, are why I need to clean my house and why I need to go to the gym. Before I had an excuse, now I just have to realize that I am lazy :). I did go to the gym twice last week, which is up from my no times the months and months before that. Baby steps! Onto my house, that is my project this week. I hope to get it all sparkly and clean. I figured maybe if I take one of two rooms a day then I won't feel overwhelmed. Not that we are that messy, but the dust sure does accumulate fast. Hey Dust, if you could kindly quit leaving your traces everywhere I sure would appreciate it! But alas, the dust doesn't care and piles up anyway. Guess that means I have to quit being lazy. Man I hate that!

In other news, my sister-in-law had a baby last month, my sister is having a baby today, and I have another sister who is having a baby in a month. That is a fun addition to our family. We are loving our town home, its a great location. We love our doggie, even though he seems to be unpotty training himself, which is super sweet. I think me being home now all the time is really throwing off his schedule so maybe when I go back to work it will work itself out? I'm not too hopeful!

Jason and I had our anniversary yesterday. It's been two years. Does that seem crazy to anyone else? Time flies by so fast! We have been in our house almost 6 months, another mind boggling statistic. Jason also turned 30 which I am sure he will be pleased I am sharing with all of you :). Anyway, just wanted to catch you all up on what is happening in the Hayes world. A bunch of nothing that all turns into weeks and months!!! As my old Jr. High Assistant Principal would say, make it a good day! :)

Carnival Here We Come!!!

Ok so its not till next Feb. 2010, but we are going on a cruise!!! My brother found a cheap cruise and talked all of us into going. A bunch of the couples in my family have all signed up to go and we are really excited. I wanna go now, and not wait for a whole year but I guess we will have to! We got a good deal. It's only a 4 day cruise but I think its going to be a blast. We are leaving from San Diego and going to Catalina Island, then Ensenada, Mexico then back to San Diego. I think we are going to have a rockin blast. It will be fun to go with all couples and no kids and just have fun! Jason has never been to CA either so that is an added bonus. We are planning on spending some time in San Diego after the cruise at Sea World or something. Anyway, I am really super excited!!! Now we are in for a long wait :)

The Little Rascal

And no, we don't mean Alfalfa! So for some reason I have really been jonesin' to get a dog. I knew I didn't want a puppy because I don't want my shoes and furniture to be chewed up so I have been looking online at the pound and stuff to get a cute one year old (or so) dog. After much looking, the dogs I would find would get adopted right before my eyes. One I really thought I would like got adopted and I actually shed a tear. It was sad. I had been looking on KSL for dogs and found one that the people were giving away for free. They just wanted to find a good home. So, we called the lady and arranged to go see the little guy. He was pretty unfriendly at first but after hearing his short sad life up to that point we knew we wanted to take him home and give him lots of love. So we did! His name is Max and he is a 9 month old Chihuaha/Jack Russell Terrier mix. He looks more Terrier then Chihuaha, which is good. He has the floppy ears and he is full grown. We just love him. He has brought new energy to our house and he makes us both really happy. I guess this is what having kids feels like on a small scale :). He is a little rowdy and we've had some potty issues but we are working on those. We enrolled him to go to dog training and we start that next week. We just absolutely love him. :) He is scratching at my chair as we speak... stinker! :) Anyway, just wanted to share the good news. See the pictures, keeping in mind it sure is hard to photograph a dog! Also for those who grew up with me he reminds me a lot of Chienne. Oh the memories.
